Private Tour: Achilleion Kanoni Old Town

Pick-up with a private vehicle from your hotel. Visit the Achilleion Palace(1 hour) a luxurious and beautiful Villa named after Greek hero Achilles and full of great paintings and marble statues. After our visit to Achillion palace you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking view from the top of Kanoni, the former Capital of Corfu where we will make a small stop to take Photos of the beautiful views looking out at the Mouse island and Vlacherna Monastery. For our final stop we will head into the Old town of Corfu where you can a walk through Spianada Square, where you can buy traditional products from the local market located in the really narrow city center’s alleys and visit St Spyridon Church.

On this trip we will be exploring the natural beauty and history of the west coast from Palaiokastritsa with its fabulous vibrant turquoise waters to Lakones with the spectacular view of the west coast and all the way to the historic Byzantine castle of Angelokastro  

 

Places you will get to visit during the trip and some things of interest for each area 

  • Palaiokastrita: Found on the West coast of the island, famous for its clear turquoise waters, here you can visit the Aquarium, go on a boat ride to see some of the many caves, visit the Monastery of the Holy Theotokos. 

  • Lakones: The small village of Lakones is found 4 km away from Paleokastritsa, to an altitude of 182 m (about 597.11 ft) here you get to see the spectacular views of the west coast and an aerial view of Palaiokastritsa. 

  • Angelokastro:  is a Byzantine castle on the Northwest coast of Corfu and built on particularly precipitous and rocky terrain at an altitude of 305m (about 1000ft) on a steep cliff above the sea which surveys the City of Corfu and the mountains of mainland Greece to the southeast and a wide area of Corfu toward the northeast and northwest. 

  • Krini: Here you will be able to grab something to eat at one of the Local Tavernas  

  • Vistonas: Here you will get to visit the ENOTIS olive oil museum.
